In 1985 a prototype aluminium boat was
constructed in Hamilton, New Zealand. After rigorous testing a decision was made
to commence production and the initial ten boats were completed and offered for
sale. The immediate success of this boat, the 14' 6" Seeker was the start of a
remarkable entry into the marine industry by RAMCO Boats. The company's Rams
head logo infers
strength and all round toughness, qualities bred into each of the production
model boats available today.
At the time of the first 'RAMCO',
existing marine craft were limited in their suitability for the extreme
conditions encountered around the vast coastline of New Zealand. The initial
production run of the 'Seekers' soon changed boating attitudes through superior
performance and handling. Now many thousands of boats later, and with an export
clientele in many countries, RAMCO Boats are firmly established as one of the
largest manufacturers of boats in New Zealand, specialising in production aluminium
craft from the 3.5m Dinghy to the 7.6m Explorer. A Special Projects division
manufactures custom designed craft and has many products completed including
barges, where each client can establish their individual requirements and
specifications.
RENEGADE 650
Don't be fooled by the Renegade's sleek appearance as this boat was designed
with the serious angler in mind.
The roomy forward V-berth provides comfortable accommodation for those
overnight fishing adventures or family outings.

The popularity of the RAMCO range of trailer boats reflects the demanding nature of New
Zealanders. We are a boating nation with some of the harshest conditions in the
world.
It's hard to imagine any place with a greater dedication to boating than New
Zealand. In fact, does another place exist? After all, New Zealand has one of
the longest coastlines in the world, the population is seen to migrate to the
beach every summer and their affinity for water and boats is incredible.
